The franchise is founded as the Toronto Arenas, a charter member of the new National Hockey League.

The Maple Leafs
Conn Smythe takes over and renames the club the Maple Leafs, cementing the blue and white.

Maple Leaf Gardens
The team moves into its storied downtown home, a cathedral of Canadian hockey.
- 1942
The comeback
Toronto rallies from three games down in the Final to lift one of the most famous Cups in league history.

Dynasty
Four Stanley Cups in five seasons define a golden era for the franchise.

Original Six glory
The club captures its thirteenth championship, still the most recent to date.

A new home
The team moves to its modern downtown arena, today known as Scotiabank Arena.
